Employer Payment Plans
A Quick Guide
Employers can request a payment plan in KUIP to help manage their Unemployment Insurance (UI) debt.

This video explains how to request a standard or custom payment plan.    
Payment Plan Options
Employers may request one of two payment plan types in KUIP: standard or custom. Third-party administrators (or TPAs) cannot request payment plans on an employer’s behalf.
Standard payment plans
are approved upon request for most employers. They require a down payment of 10% of your outstanding balance and have a payment schedule of 12 monthly payments over the following year.
Custom Payment Plans
require a down payment greater than the monthly interest accrual on the initial balance and have a maximum repayment period of five years. OUI staff review custom payment plans prior to approval.   
How Do I Get On A Payment Plan?
Confirming Your Payment Plan
The default payment method for the down payment is ACH Debit.

Clicking the first checkbox allows you to schedule the down payment for a future date.

The second checkbox will set up recurring scheduled payments.

Enter your payment details and select ‘Next.’
Custom Payment Plans
Custom Payment Plans: Part 2
Now, you’ll review, verify, confirm the details of your payment plan, and submit.

Instead of scheduling a down payment, OUI staff will review your requested terms and either approve or deny your payment plan request. You will be notified about the approval or denial of your payment plan through KUIP correspondence.

Making Payments
What Happens Next
If your payment plan is approved, you’ll need to make all payments and reports on time. You will have the option to schedule recurring payments in KUIP.

If you don’t pay or file reports timely, your payment plan will be placed in default.

Employers who have defaulted on two payment plans within three years are not eligible for a new payment plan.
